Lionel Richie postponed his shows for tonight and tomorrow after cutting Wednesday night’s performance short. It was the first night of his tour with Earth, Wind & Fire.
When he was performing “Dancing on the Ceiling”, he got dizzy and had to sit down. He then sang “Three Times a Lady”, then walked off stage for intermission, but he didn’t come back.
Lionel was taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure. Doctors advised him to postpone the shows so he can rest. He’s expected to return to the stage on Tuesday in Pittsburgh.
It’s unclear what caused Lionel’s dizziness, but Earth, Wind & Fire’s drummer thinks it was dehydration.
