Cher has a new granddaughter. A 16-year-old new granddaughter. A former model named Kayti Edwards apparently had a child with Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman in 2010, but he didn’t want to be a father, and was never really in the child’s life.
And he never told Cher about it until he suffered an overdose in 2021, but she didn’t believe him. Cher finally contacted Kayti last June, and she confirmed it was true.
Kayti says, quote, “When she heard the news, she was speechless. Cher told her family, ‘Oh my God, I’m finally a grandma."”
Cher got together with her granddaughter, whose name is Ever, last September. Kayti says she was, quote, “lovely and kind [and] like a kid herself.”
Kayti is the granddaughter of legendary actress Julie Andrews.
Speaking of Elijah, he got back into Ever’s life in 2023. But he’s still battling his demons.
Cher has filed to place him under a conservatorship, saying, quote, “his drug dependency is at its worst.”
She also says his only source of income is a trust from his father, the late Gregg Allman, and as soon as he gets any of it, it’s “immediately squandered.”
