Biscuit Belly, a breakfast restaurant known for its biscuit sandwiches, will open its first Ohio location on June 2 at 1417 W. Fifth Ave. in northwest Columbus, near Grandview Heights.
The new restaurant will open in the former Hot Chicken Takeover space, which closed in September after operating there since 2022. Hot Chicken Takeover shut down all of its locations by October because of declining sales and lease disputes.
Customers at Biscuit Belly can find a menu centered on biscuits, including biscuits and gravy with sausage or mushroom gravy, and a selection of biscuit sandwiches. Options include the Mama’s Boy, made with fried chicken, jalapeño pimento cheese and spicy pickles; the Edgy Veggie, which features fried green tomatoes, mushroom gravy and an over-easy egg; and the Basic Biscuit, with an over-easy egg, cheddar and bacon or sausage.
The menu also features avocado toast, French toast, pancakes, omelets, salads, breakfast bowls, sandwiches and wraps. Breakfast cocktails and coffee drinks are available.
Chad Coulter, who founded Biscuit Belly in Louisville, Kentucky, with his wife, Lauren, in 2019, said the brand now has 14 locations across six states.
