Autumn-Joi L. Barrett Appointed Madam Chair of the Prince George’s County Foster Care Task Force
Upper Marlboro, Maryland — May 18, 2026 — Award-winning media personality, community advocate, and entrepreneur Autumn-Joi L. Barrett has been appointed Madam Chair of the Prince George’s County Foster Care Task Force, a newly established initiative dedicated to evaluating and strengthening foster care services and outcomes for children and families throughout Prince George’s County.
Barrett brings more than two decades of experience in broadcasting, storytelling, and community engagement to this important leadership role. As a respected radio and television personality, she has built a career amplifying voices, informing the public, and inspiring positive change. Her commitment to children and families makes her uniquely positioned to lead this task force with compassion, purpose, and vision.
The Prince George’s County Foster Care Task Force was created to assess the current foster care system, identify challenges, and develop recommendations that improve the safety, well-being, and long-term success of children in care. Under Barrett’s leadership, the task force will work collaboratively with government agencies, child welfare professionals, foster parents, advocates, and community stakeholders.
