CLINTONVILLE, Ohio (AP) — A new restaurant, Allora Kitchen and Bar, has opened in the former location of Gallo’s on High in Clintonville following a recent change in ownership.
Allora Kitchen and Bar announced its opening on March 8 in a social media post, stating it is now operating at 4215 N. High St., the site previously occupied by Gallo’s on High. According to the announcement, the transition is a rebranding, maintaining a similar concept to its predecessor.
“Allora Kitchen & Bar is now open, taking over the former home of Gallo’s on High — bringing a fresh name and energy to a concept you already know and love,” the restaurant stated in its post. “While the brand is new, the idea remains the same: great food, great drinks, and a welcoming place to gather with friends and family.”
The opening comes after Gallo’s on High disclosed in February that the Clintonville restaurant would transition to new ownership and eventually operate under a different venue name. In a Feb. 18 social media post, Gallo’s thanked its customers and staff and confirmed the transition.
“Under new ownership,” the post read. “We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal patrons for the incredible support you’ve shown us throughout the years.”
At the time, the restaurant said it would continue operating under the Gallo’s name for “the next couple of weeks” before the new owners assumed control. The announcement did not identify the new ownership group or provide a specific date for the transition.
Gallo’s on High opened in 2021 under the Gallo family, long-time central Ohio restaurateurs and owners of Gallo’s Hospitality Group. The group operates several other restaurants in the Columbus area, including Gallo’s Pizzeria, Gallo’s Pizza and Bar, Gallo’s Tap Room, and Gallo’s Kitchen and Bar.
In its March 8 post, Allora Kitchen and Bar invited customers to visit and experience what it described as the restaurant’s “next chapter.”
