COLUMBUS, Ohio — The latest season of Netflix’s “Love Is Blind” will feature singles from across Ohio, but Columbus will serve as the main setting, according to Experience Columbus, the city’s marketing organization.
Season 10 of the reality dating show will continue its experiment to determine whether people can fall in love based on personality rather than appearance. Contestants interact in private “pods” for 10 days without seeing each other, with some choosing to propose sight unseen. The show then follows the engaged couples as they meet in person, integrate their lives and decide whether to marry.
Sarah Townes, chief marketing and innovation officer for Experience Columbus, said viewers can expect to see several local attractions, landmarks and dining destinations featured this season.
“We can confirm that Columbus is the main location for Season 10 of Netflix’s ‘Love Is Blind’ and you will see some amazing Columbus attractions, landmarks and other dining destinations,” Townes said.
Filming for the season took place last year. Experience Columbus provided Kinetic Content, the show’s production company, with numerous recommendations for local filming locations. However, Townes said the agency will find out alongside viewers which specific establishments made the final cut.
“They had ideas of the types of things they wanted their couples to do, and we provided recommendations,” Townes said. “We know that they were all over the city last year filming, so we’re looking forward to seeing what made the final cut.”
Sixteen of the 32 singles featured this season are from Columbus, with others hailing from Cleveland, Cincinnati and elsewhere in Ohio. While Columbus is the confirmed central location, it is unclear which additional Ohio locations may appear.
To celebrate the city’s prominent role, several “Love Is Blind” events are planned in Columbus. Brass Eye Rooftop Bar at the Junto Hotel will host watch parties on Feb. 11, 18 and 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. COSI will hold a “Cocktails and Chemistry” event Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m., screening episodes of the show in its theater.
Experience Columbus is also partnering with Jaeger Square apartment complex to host a watch party Feb. 18 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The event will feature themed food and drinks, tarot card readings and photo opportunities inspired by the show. Townes said some cast members are expected to attend.
The agency plans to highlight local filming locations on its Instagram account and a new page on its website.
“We are just as excited as everyone else to see how the edits turn out and all the places the couples go and experience while they’re in the city,” Townes said.
The first six of 12 episodes will be released Feb. 11, with new episodes dropping in batches every Wednesday. The final episode is scheduled for release March 4.
