Southwest Airlines and Germany-based Condor Airlines have announced a new partnership that will allow seamless travel on a single ticket to 70 destinations across Europe, Asia, and Africa via Frankfurt, Germany. This partnership, launching January 19, enables Southwest customers to connect to Condor’s international network, while Condor passengers can access Southwest’s extensive North American routes.
Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas is one of six key connecting points for the partnership, alongside Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland, Oregon. This move marks Southwest’s fifth international airline partnership as the carrier shifts strategy to boost profitability.
Southwest is also enhancing its customer experience with a redesigned cabin, the introduction of assigned and extra legroom seating (available for flights from January 27), and changes to its baggage policy, ending its “bags fly free” offer and now charging for checked bags on most flights.
Travelers can book these new transatlantic options through Condor, travel agencies, and major travel websites. The partnership broadens travel choices, with Southwest offering over 270 daily departures and more than 70 nonstop destinations from Las Vegas alone. Both airlines emphasize that the collaboration will provide customers with greater convenience and expanded route networks for both domestic and international journeys.
