The Academy of Country Music Awards are returning to Las Vegas after a three-year run in Texas, marking a significant homecoming for the event. The 61st ACM Awards will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 17, with the ceremony streaming live on Prime Video. The announcement was made by the Academy of Country Music, Prime Video, and Dick Clark Productions.
The ACM Awards have a storied history in Las Vegas, having been staged there for most years since 2003, with brief relocations to Dallas and Nashville. The MGM Grand Garden Arena has been a frequent host, welcoming the event for over a decade after its initial run at the Michelob Ultra Arena (formerly Mandalay Bay Events Center).
Known for their star-studded hosting lineup, recent ACM ceremonies have featured legends like Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, and Reba McEntire. The show is also famous for its unique collaborations, pairing artists such as Ed Sheeran with Luke Combs, Dua Lipa with Chris Stapleton, and Rascal Flatts with BTS.
ACM Awards Week will kick off on May 15, with more details and ticket information to be released early next year. The return to Las Vegas is being celebrated as a “homecoming” by Academy CEO Damon Whiteside, who emphasized the historical significance and special memories associated with the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
