Billie Eilish Announces Global Release Date for Concert Film

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Billie Eilish announced the global release date for her upcoming concert film Sunday night, revealing the news onstage during the final show of her sold-out “Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour” in San Francisco.

The film is scheduled to be released worldwide March 20, 2026, by Paramount Pictures in partnership with Darkroom Records, Interscope Films and Lightstorm Earth. Presented in 3D, the film was co-directed by two Academy Award winners: James Cameron, most recently recognized for “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” and Eilish herself.

The film documents performances from Eilish’s 2024–25 world tour in support of her third studio album, “Hit Me Hard and Soft.” The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and produced the top-10 Billboard Hot 100 single “Lunch.” The tour, which visited North America, Europe, South America, Asia and Oceania, sold out multiple arena and stadium dates, including several two-night runs in major cities.

Eilish announced the film in a video posted to Instagram after the San Francisco concert, accompanied by a new image featuring her and Cameron taken by photographer Henry Hwu. Additional stills were released Sunday night.

The project is the latest in Eilish’s history of visual releases. She previously directed the 2021 Disney+ concert special “Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles” and starred in the 2021 documentary “Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry.” Co-directing a 3D theatrical release marks her most ambitious visual project to date.

Eilish is a two-time Oscar winner and nine-time Grammy winner. She remains a consistent presence on Billboard charts, with multiple tracks from “Hit Me Hard and Soft” currently on the Hot 100 and a continued multiyear streak on the Billboard Artist 100.

Paramount said it will announce additional international rollout details, premium formats and theater locations closer to the release date. Promotional materials, including a trailer and key art, are expected in early 2026.
