Post Malone Wins First CMA Award as Early Winners Announced Ahead of Nashville Ceremony

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Post Malone earned his first Country Music Association Award on Wednesday, Nov. 19, as early winners were announced ahead of the main ceremony.

Post Malone and Blake Shelton won the CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year for their collaboration “Pour Me a Drink,” which topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart and appears on Malone’s album “F-1 Trillion.” The track was produced by Louis Bell and Charlie Handsome.

Malone is also nominated for Album of the Year for “F-1 Trillion,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and marked his first No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart.

Other early winners include Riley Green and Ella Langley, whose Western movie-themed music video for “You Look Like You Love Me” was named CMA Music Video of the Year. The video was directed by Langley, John Park and Wales Toney.

Langley leads the nominations alongside Megan Moroney and Lainey Wilson, each with six. Langley’s nominations include New Artist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and both Single and Song of the Year for “You Look Like You Love Me” with Green.

This year’s CMA Awards will feature performances by Kelsea Ballerini, BigXthaPlug, Brandi Carlile, Kenny Chesney, Luke Combs, Green, Miranda Lambert, Langley, Little Big Town, Patty Loveless, Moroney, Old Dominion, The Red Clay Strays and Shaboozey. Wilson will host the show solo, after previously co-hosting with Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning.

The CMA Awards will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC, and will be available the following day on Hulu.
