O.J. Simpson’s estate has agreed to pay nearly $58 million to Fred Goldman, the father of Ron Goldman, following a long-standing civil judgment over the 1994 killing of his son. Fred Goldman originally sought $117 million from Simpson’s estate after Simpson’s death in April 2024.
Court records indicate that Malcolm LaVergne, the estate administrator, signed the approval filing electronically on Friday. LaVergne had previously been outspoken about his reluctance to pay the Goldman family, stating after Simpson’s death that he hoped the Goldmans would get nothing. He later clarified his position, saying he would address Fred Goldman’s claim according to Nevada law.
Simpson’s estate was valued at approximately $328,000 as of March, with an additional $268,486 generated through an auction, according to court documents. The agreed payment to the Goldmans is significantly higher than the estate’s reported assets, raising questions about how much the family will ultimately be able to collect.
