Longaberger Homestead Tourist Complex Near Columbus Listed for Sale at $5.7 Million

Two years after The Longaberger Co. constructed its iconic basket-shaped headquarters in Newark, Ohio, the company expanded its ambitions by developing its own town.

The property, known as the Longaberger Welcome Center and Homestead, consists of several buildings. Construction was completed around the company’s peak in 1999. The site was open to visitors, offering a museum, shops and tours. According to the Muskingum County auditor, the property has changed hands several times in the past decade. Now, the former tourist attraction, located about an hour east of Columbus, is back on the market.

The listing at 5825 Raiders Road in Frazeysburg includes a 70,000-square-foot retail center, a 7,600-square-foot restaurant, a 16,000-square-foot office and welcome center, and a parking lot with more than 500 spaces. The complex also features a giant apple basket structure. The entire property spans more than 15 acres.

Listed by Lepi & Associates, the compound has been described as resembling a movie set, with brick facades, woodwork and whimsical architectural details. One distinctive feature is a tree growing in the center of one building.

The asking price is $5.7 million. The real estate agency has suggested a range of potential uses, including a senior living community, winery, boutique hotel, university campus, or retail center.

Not all original buildings are included in the sale. In 2024, the property was purchased, and the new owners renovated the Crawford Barn and Victorian Farmhouse for use as a wedding venue, which is currently in operation.
