A high-stakes BetMGM bettor at the Borgata in Atlantic City made headlines by placing a $1 million in-play wager on the Raiders +1½ (-125) during their matchup against the Jaguars. The bet, which stood to win $800,000, was confirmed by a source after the ticket was posted on Instagram.
The game was a rollercoaster, scoreless until the final minute of the first half. Jacksonville’s kicker, Cam Little, hit a 48-yard field goal with just 16 seconds left in regulation to tie the game and force overtime.
In the extra period, Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence scored on a fourth-and-goal quarterback sneak for a 30-23 lead. But the Raiders answered with a dramatic drive, capped by a Geno Smith 2-yard touchdown pass to Brock Bowers with 16 seconds left in overtime. Down by one, the Raiders opted for a two-point conversion and the win, but Smith’s pass was batted down by Jaguars nose tackle DaVon Hamilton.
Despite the Raiders’ 30-29 loss, the bettor’s +1½ spread held up, cashing the $1 million ticket for an $800,000 profit. The wager was placed early in the contest, well before either team had scored.
