The American Red Cross of Southern Nevada is launching its Haunted Harvest Sweepstakes to encourage blood and platelet donations this fall. From Monday, Oct. 20, through Sunday, Nov. 16, anyone who donates at participating locations will be automatically entered for a chance to win one of three $5,000 gift cards. In addition, all donors will receive a $10 Amazon.com Gift Card by email as a thank you.
Blood donations typically decline during the busy fall season and around school breaks, even as the need for lifesaving transfusions remains high. The Red Cross stresses that all blood types are needed, but type O and type B negative are especially important.
To donate, individuals can make an appointment using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit the Red Cross website, or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Donating during this time not only helps replenish critical blood supplies but also gives donors the chance to win valuable prizes.
