NBC to Air Extended Taylor Swift Interview Tomorrow on ‘The Tonight Show’

NEW YORK (AP) — NBC announced Wednesday that it will air a special encore edition of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Friday, Oct. 10, featuring an extended interview with Taylor Swift. The episode will include additional segments not seen during her original visit on Monday, Oct. 6.

During the interview, Swift addressed speculation about her potential involvement in next year’s Super Bowl halftime show. “Jay-Z has always been very good to me,” Swift said, referring to the rap mogul whose Roc Nation produces the halftime show. “Our teams are really close. They sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about [the Super Bowl]?’ And that’s not like an official offer or like a conference room conversation. Just, ‘Our teams are really close, how does she feel about it in general?’”

Swift also discussed her engagement to NFL player Travis Kelce. She explained that her friend, singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, found out about the engagement from the internet because he does not use a cell phone. “You have to email him and then set up a FaceTime, and he has to find an iPad and they have to give it to him like he’s a child,” Swift said. “This is one of my absolute favorite people on the planet, and the news came out and I was like, ‘Oh my God, we forgot to call Ed!’ He’s like family, I love him, but he doesn’t have a phone.”

Swift also spoke about her new song “Wood,” describing it as a track that began as a reflection on superstitions but evolved in a more playful direction.

The original episode featured several Swift-themed moments, including members of The Roots encouraging Fallon to bring Swift onstage and a cold open with Fallon dressed in a glittery marching band costume, dancing to “The Fate of Ophelia.”

“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” airs at 11:35 p.m. Eastern on NBC and is available to stream the following day on Peacock.
