HEALTH UPDATE — Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil has revealed the reason behind his absence from the stage over the past year: he suffered a stroke during Christmas last year. In a new interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Neil, 64, detailed the severity of the medical setback and the challenges he faced in his recovery.
According to Neil, the stroke left his entire left side paralyzed: “I had a stroke… my whole left side went out.” The singer described a difficult rehabilitation process, saying, “I had to learn to walk again, and that was tough.” He explained that initially he needed help just to get to the bathroom, progressing from being carried, to using a wheelchair, then a walker, and eventually a cane. “Now I don’t need anything. But it’s like a full-time job getting back to where you feel good again,” Neil added.
The band’s long-awaited Las Vegas Residency, originally scheduled for earlier in the year, was postponed to allow Neil time to recover. The residency kicks off tonight, Friday, September 12th, 2025, at Dolby Live – MGM Park, with doors opening at 7:00pm and shows starting at 8:00pm.
Due to Neil’s health issues, Mötley Crüe also had to cancel their appearance at the inaugural Boardwalk Rock festival in Ocean City, Maryland, on May 17th, 2025.
The rescheduled residency dates are:
- September 12th, 13th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 24th, 26th, 27th
- October 1st and 3rd, 2025
Fans can expect a triumphant return as Neil rejoins the band on stage, following a long and challenging recovery.
