Former NFL Quarterback Mark Sanchez Stabbed, Arrested and Hospitalized After Indianapolis Incident

Former NFL quarterback and Fox analyst Mark Sanchez was arrested Saturday in Indianapolis after an incident that left him stabbed and hospitalized. Sanchez, 38, had been scheduled to call the Raiders-Colts game on Sunday. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Sanchez was arrested at the hospital for battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication, all misdemeanors.

Police responded to a call around 12:30 a.m. Saturday involving two injured people, including Sanchez. He was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. All parties involved have been identified, and no further suspects are being sought.

Fox issued a statement confirming Sanchez was injured and is recovering, but did not comment on whether he will be replaced for Sunday’s broadcast. Sanchez, a former USC standout, played eight seasons in the NFL before joining Fox as a broadcaster.
