The Las Vegas community is gearing up for a celebration to honor the Summerlin South Little League team with a parade in their own neighborhood. Scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, the event will take place on Park Centre Drive in Downtown Summerlin, which is part of an outdoor mall area. This celebration coincides with the team’s achievement in winning the U.S. championship at the Little League World Series.
Following the parade, the team will be recognized during the Aviators-Iowa Cubs game at Las Vegas Ballpark. Given the expected large turnout for both the parade and the 7:05 p.m. game, attendees are advised to arrive early to secure parking and a good viewing spot along the parade route.
Downtown Summerlin has announced that its 6,200 parking spaces, including surface lots, garages, and on-street parking, should accommodate the crowd. However, no confirmation has been received from Station Casinos regarding additional parking availability at the nearby Red Rock resort.
Metropolitan Police Department officers will be present to manage traffic and crowd control, though there are no planned traffic adjustments on major roads like Sahara Avenue, Charleston Boulevard, or the 215 Beltway.
The parade will be hosted by Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys and will include appearances from local sports teams such as the Raiders, Golden Knights, Athletics, Aviators, and organizations like the Las Vegas Grand Prix and Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Local school bands and cheer teams from Bishop Gorman, Faith Lutheran, Palo Verde, The Meadows, and Doral Academy will also participate in the festivities.
