FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Morgan Wallen and his team are facing a fine after his headlining performance at Gillette Stadium on Friday, Aug. 22, exceeded the town-imposed curfew by approximately 15 minutes.
The town of Foxborough had set an 11:30 p.m. curfew, according to The Boston Herald. Wallen’s final song began at 11:44 p.m., 14 minutes past the deadline. The resulting fine was 25 cents per attendee, totaling $15,705. A Foxborough spokesperson told The Boston Herald, “The Morgan Wallen concert on Friday night is being fined for exceeding the curfew and his team is aware of this.”
During the concert, Wallen was joined by surprise guests, including former Patriots player Rob Gronkowski and Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel.
Boston 25 News reported that Wallen is not the artist who has faced the highest fine for a curfew breach at Gillette Stadium. Bruce Springsteen holds that record, having played until nearly midnight in 2016, which resulted in a fine exceeding $22,000.
Wallen’s album “I’m the Problem,” the inspiration for his current tour, remains at the top of the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. His tour will continue with scheduled performances in Canada, including Toronto on Sept. 4-5 and Edmonton on Sept. 12-13.
“I’m the Problem” is Wallen’s third consecutive project to top the Billboard 200, following his 2023 album “One Thing at a Time” and his 2021 album “Dangerous: The Double Album.” Wallen has also achieved four No. 1 hits on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 with “Last Night,” “I Had Some Help,” “Love Somebody,” and “What I Want.”
