Alex Warren Playfully Responds to Drake’s Billboard Chart Diss

It’s not every day that one of the world’s biggest rappers calls you out, but Alex Warren is taking Drake’s recent diss in stride.

Drake commented on TikToker Alex Warren’s hit “Ordinary” for blocking his track “What Did I Miss?” from debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. In response, Warren posted a playful video on Instagram Stories on Monday, July 14. The clip shows him dancing to Drake’s “Nokia,” as he stares into the camera while moving to the lyrics, “Baby girl/ Let me see you do your dance, let me see you twirl.”

Instead of a caption, Warren tagged Drake’s username. Notably, “Nokia” never reached No. 1 on the Hot 100, peaking at No. 2 after debuting at No. 10 in March.

Warren’s response follows Drake’s expression of disappointment over debuting at No. 2 on the Hot 100 chart dated July 19. Earlier on Monday, Drake wrote on his Story, “Suppressor on the 1 spot.”

“I’m taking that soon don’t worry one song or another,” he added, sharing a graphic of the U.S. chart’s top 10, which showed “What Did I Miss?” just below Warren’s “Ordinary” at No. 1.

While Drake may be displeased with the chart position of “What Did I Miss?” this week, the track still earned him a record-extending 81st top 10 hit on the Hot 100. Drake now has 359 total entries on the ranking, more than any other artist in history.

Meanwhile, Warren’s “Ordinary” has proven difficult to surpass. The breakthrough hit has spent six weeks at the top, only briefly dethroned by Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild,” which held No. 1 for one week in late June.

Warren recently released “On My Mind” with ROSÉ, following his duet with Jelly Roll, “Bloodline.” Both tracks will be featured on Warren’s new album, “You’ll Be Alright, Kid,” set to release on Friday, July 18.
