Leo Margets Becomes Only The 2nd Woman To Make WSOP Main Event Final Table

Leo Margets made a historic achievement by becoming the second woman ever to reach the final table of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. Competing in the $10,000 buy-in No-limit Hold’em World Championship at Horseshoe Las Vegas, Margets stands fifth in chips with 53.4 million as she prepares to compete against eight other players for the $10 million first prize. Her accomplishment places her alongside Barbara Enright, who reached the final table in 1995.

The final table features strong competitors, with John Wasnock holding the overall chip lead at 108.1 million. Notable players include Michael Mizrachi, a seven-time WSOP winner, and Adam Hendrix, who both bring significant experience and skill to the table. Mizrachi, known as “The Grinder,” is aiming to solidify his legacy in the Poker Hall of Fame, while Hendrix is focused on making strategic decisions to vie for the $9 million remaining in prize money.

Margets has an impressive poker resume, having been the last female standing in the Main Event before, finishing 27th in 2009. She also won her first WSOP bracelet in 2021. Her journey to the final table this year involved overcoming challenging hands, such as winning a crucial pot against Sergio Veloso with a flush, which significantly boosted her chip count.

The final table is set to be an intense competition, with each player guaranteed at least $1 million but all aiming for the top prize. Margets’ presence underscores the growing representation and success of female poker players on the world stage.
