The Sturgis Buffalo Chip, renowned for its vibrant presence at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, is planning to extend its legacy with a barn-themed hotel-casino in Southern Nevada. While the specific location and timeline have not been disclosed, the project aims to replicate the energetic atmosphere that made the original site famous.
Prospective features of this new development include Woody’s Barn, an extensive live event venue, the Honky Tonk music bar spread across three levels, and a 10,000-seat amphitheater. Additionally, the project will feature Tiny Town, a collection of tiny homes, a pedestrian retail space called Sturgis Street, and Bikini Beach. The original Sturgis Buffalo Chip has hosted legendary artists like Kid Rock, ZZ Top, and Aerosmith, setting a high standard for entertainment.
Amenities planned for the Nevada location include RV parking, a mini-gas station, a general store, and a replica of the Big Engine Bar. The initiative is a collaboration between Rod “Woody” Woodruff, founder of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip, and Mark Advent, a key figure in Las Vegas’ entertainment landscape known for projects like New York-New York on the Strip.
Mark Advent emphasizes that the essence of the Chip lies in its unique blend of music, motorcycles, freedom, and camaraderie. The new venture aims to transform this spirit into a year-round experience accessible to a broader audience, moving beyond its roots as a biker-exclusive destination.
