Taylor Swift: The Ultimate Crowd Energizer According to Kylie Kelce and Ed Sheeran

Kylie Kelce and Ed Sheeran discussed a mutual friend on the latest episode of Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, agreeing that Taylor Swift is the “cheat code” for getting crowd noise to peak.

The conversation about the pop star began with Sheeran describing the highest decibel level he’s experienced from an audience. “We brought on Eminem, and that was the loudest I’ve ever heard a crowd — like, anywhere in the world,” Sheeran said, referring to a 2023 performance in Detroit, Eminem’s hometown.

“There’s never been a louder crowd than that,” he added. “But I will say it’s because I brought Eminem on stage in Detroit. That’s the cheat code.”

When Sheeran asked Kelce who would be the “cheat code” for Philadelphia crowds, Kelce suggested her brother-in-law’s well-known girlfriend. “I mean, I think Taylor, just because it’s home,” Kelce said, acknowledging Swift’s roots in West Reading, Pennsylvania, before her move to Nashville.

Sheeran responded, “I kind of think Taylor anywhere, though.”

Both Kelce and Sheeran are familiar with the high-energy crowds Swift draws. Kelce, married to retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, has known Swift since 2023 when she began dating Jason’s brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Sheeran has shared the stage with Swift numerous times, including during her Red Tour, where he was an opening act.

Recalling the Red Tour, Sheeran told Kelce how it turned him into an NFL fan. “I moved to Nashville for Taylor’s Red Tour in 2013, and I got a place there,” he said. “I went to Walmart to buy things to move in, and I just bought some pajamas. And when someone saw them, they said, ‘Oh, you’re a Titans fan.’ I was like, ‘Guess I am."”

The interview comes as Sheeran prepares to release his new album, “Play,” in September. He has already released three tracks: “Azizam,” “Old Phone,” and “Sapphire.”

This isn’t the first time Sheeran has spoken about Swift while promoting “Play.” In April, on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, he discussed his friendship with Swift, saying, “I see her when I see her … Instead of catching up the whole time, we have a proper sit-down, six-hour catch-ups, and I think that’s a really nice way to do it.”
