Potbelly Sandwich Shop Expands in Columbus with New Westerville Location

WESTERVILLE, Ohio (AP) — A restaurant group recently opened a Potbelly Sandwich Shop in Westerville and plans to launch several more in the Columbus area.

The new restaurant began welcoming customers Saturday at 782 N. State St., in the Northridge Crossing Shopping Center. The location previously housed a Panera Bread, which closed last year after not renewing its lease.

The new Westerville eatery marks the sixth Potbelly location in central Ohio. The owner, Florida-based Royal Restaurant Group, plans to open 15 more locations in the Columbus area in the coming years, according to a news release. The company also owns multiple other Potbelly locations in the Columbus market and operates dozens of Burger Kings nationwide.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop offers a variety of hot and cold subs, along with salads, soup, mac and cheese, chips, cookies, and milkshakes. The Westerville Potbelly is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily and provides dine-in, take-out, delivery, and catering services.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop debuted in Chicago in 1977 and has since expanded to more than 425 shops across the United States, including 18 in Ohio.
