Maroon 5 announced Monday, June 23, that they have two big surprises for fans: a new album and an upcoming tour. The band’s eighth studio album, “Love Is Like,” will be released this summer through Interscope, with a release date set for August 15. The tour, in support of the new album, will also begin soon.
“We’ve returned to our roots, focusing on making music organically without worrying about fitting into a specific category,” said frontman Adam Levine in a statement. “This approach is similar to how we initially stood out when we began our career.”
Along with the album and tour announcement, Maroon 5 released their latest single, “All Night,” on Monday. The band had hinted at the new song and tour in a video posted on social media on June 20. The video featured the track playing on a boom box in front of famous landmarks across the United States, including Chicago’s Cloud Gate, the Beverly Hills sign in Los Angeles, the Space Needle in Seattle, and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
The 23-date tour, promoted by Live Nation, will start on July 11 in Endicott, N.Y., and will visit cities such as Phoenix, Nashville, Houston, Atlanta, and Baltimore before concluding on November 25 in Detroit. Fan club members can purchase tickets starting Wednesday, June 25, at 10 a.m. local time. General ticket sales begin Friday, June 27, via the band’s website.
While the tracklist for “Love Is Like,” the follow-up to 2021’s “Jordi,” has not been disclosed, a press release confirmed that the album will feature “Priceless,” Maroon 5’s collaboration with LISA of BLACKPINK. The track initially entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 76.
