Justin Bieber has addressed comments from fans concerned about his health and well-being, as well as those offering life advice. “People keep telling me to heal,” Bieber wrote Monday, June 16, in a post paired with WizKid’s “Blessed.”
“Don’t you think if I could have fixed myself I would have already? I know I’m broken. I know I have anger issues,” he added. “I tried to do the work my whole life to be like the people who told me I needed to be fixed like them. And it just keeps making me more tired and more angry. The harder I try to grow, the more focused on myself I am.”
Bieber continued, “Jesus is the only person who keeps me wanting to make my life about others. Because honestly I’m exhausted with thinking about myself lately aren’t you?” This post followed another where he shared an image of what appeared to be his hand holding a burning blunt, and a conversation with a now-former friend.
“I will never suppress my emotions for someone. Conflict is a part of relationship. If you don’t like my anger you don’t like me,” he wrote. “My anger is a response to pain I have been through. Asking a traumatized person not to be traumatized is simply mean.”
The exchange escalated when the unidentified person responded that they were “not used to someone lashing out at me.” Bieber quickly ended the relationship, writing, “Ouch. This friendship is officially over. I will never accept a man calling my anger lashing out. I enjoyed our short-lived relationship. I wasn’t kidding when I told you I didn’t need you as a friend. I have good friends who will respect these boundaries.”
Bieber further remarked on the person’s character, saying he always considered them a “psy” and confirmed his decision to block them. At press time, a spokesperson for Bieber had not responded to Billboard’s request for comment on the posts.
Recently, Bieber has been actively posting cryptic images and close-up selfies, glimpses of his and wife Hailey Bieber’s infant son, Jack Blues, and messages against unsolicited advice. On June 3, he shared, “Telling other humans they deserve something is like raising someone else’s kids. Who are you to tell someone what someone should or shouldn’t have. The audacity. That’s not your place. God decides what we deserve.”
In March, Bieber expressed feeling overwhelmed by “hate” and struggling with feelings of “unworthiness.” He has been largely absent from the music scene since canceling a tour in 2022 due to Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused partial facial paralysis. Although he appears to be working on a follow-up to his 2021 album “Justice,” no further information was available at press time.
