You Are Never Alone

Have you ever been through a struggle in your life? Did it feel like a fire, a storm, or even a flood? Trust me, if you have not already been through one you will someday.  Rest assured if you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you will not go through it
alone.

I recently heard a song on Total Worship Radio by Hillsong United and Taya, called “Another in the Fire.” The song made me think of several Scripture references where people were going through literal fires, storms, and floods, yet they were not alone.  In Daniel 3, we find the Hebrew men Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego being cast into the fire of the furnace. However, in Daniel 3:25 even the king sees a fourth man walking around inside the furnace. He even says the fourth man looks like the Son of God.

“Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”  Daniel 3:25 NKJV

We also have proof that Jesus was with the disciples in a storm. They were sure that they were going to die, yet Jesus protected them as well. In Matthew chapter 8, we read the description of that event.

Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” Matthew 8:25-27 NKJV

In Genesis 7 we read that even through the flood God protected Noah and his family.  Even though He was about to destroy the world, God chose to save Noah and his family because they genuinely loved God.  Then the Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation. Genesis7:1 NKJV

As followers of Christ, we are serving the same God who saved the Hebrew men, and the disciples, as well as Noah and his family. The God that we serve is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That means that if He walked with them through their situations, there is no situation that He will not walk through with you. When you feel that fire beginning to surround you, just remember that there is Someone else in there with you and His name is Jesus!
