Chris Brown Granted $6.7 Million Bail Amid Nightclub Attack Allegations

Chris Brown was granted a $6.7 million bail following charges related to an alleged nightclub attack in London in February 2023. The incident involved music producer Amadou “Abe” Diaw, who claims that Brown assaulted him with a tequila bottle and then stomped on him, leading to his hospitalization. This resulted in Diaw filing a $16 million lawsuit against Brown in October 2023.

Initially, a British judge had ordered Brown to be held without bail due to the severity of the accusations. However, Brown was later released on bail under specific conditions, including the immediate payment of £4 million ($5.4 million) and an additional £1 million ($1.3 million) within a week. The conditions also required Brown to surrender his passport, except during his European tour, live at a court-approved address, and avoid any contact with Diaw or the nightclub where the incident occurred.

The next court hearing is slated for June 20, which accommodates Brown’s ongoing European tour. The tour is scheduled to start on June 8 in Amsterdam, with the hearing fitting between his UK performances. Rapper HoodyBaby, associated with Brown, was also arrested and charged in connection with the attack.
