A small town in France, Landerneau, successfully broke the Guinness World Record for the most people dressed as Smurfs, with 3,076 participants. This event marked the town’s third attempt, surpassing the previous record of 2,762 set in Germany in 2019. The gathering received official support from Paramount Pictures, aligning with the promotional activities for the upcoming release of the film “Smurfs” on July 18. The Smurfs, known as “Schtroumpfs” in French, were originally created by Belgian cartoonist Peyo in 1958.
