COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio is home to numerous travel spots and attractions, and residents will have the chance to explore the state’s destinations during an event in Columbus.
Ohio Tourism Day is scheduled for Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Plaza of the Ohio Statehouse. Originally planned for Tuesday, the free event was postponed due to weather concerns, according to the Ohio Department of Development.
Attendees can learn about more than 130 attractions across Ohio. The event will feature entertainment, interactive experiences, booths, and demonstrations. Ohio boasts a wide range of popular destinations, including amusement and water parks, zoos, museums, sports venues, parks, and distilleries.
Held annually, Ohio Tourism Day celebrates the state’s tourism industry while providing Ohioans with opportunities to discover vacation, travel, and business options within the state.
Last year, hundreds participated in the event, which marked the beginning of the summer travel season with the involvement of the Ohio Department of Development.
In addition to the annual Tourism Day, the state has released a virtual 2025 summer events guide, highlighting events statewide.
