Kanye West and Playboi Carti may be on the verge of reconciling, according to producer Digital Nas. The producer, closely associated with West recently, mentioned in a stream with Sneako that West is communicating with Fritz Owens, an associate of Carti. He expressed hope for a reunion, stating, “I don’t like to see my brothers separate.”
The tension between West and Carti arose when Carti removed West from his highly anticipated album, MUSIC, due to West’s controversial social media remarks involving antisemitism, the Ku Klux Klan, and violence against women. In response, West threatened to derail Carti’s career, criticizing his attempt to collaborate with West’s daughter, North.
West further warned Carti, accusing him of being manipulated by external influences and asserting his role in Carti’s rise to fame. West also alleged that Carti confronted him with a firearm at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.
During a Twitch stream, West expanded on these accusations, questioning Carti’s claims of staying offline while escalating their conflict beyond social media exchanges. Carti, on his part, has remained largely silent, not addressing West’s allegations of their hotel encounter.
Prior to their dispute, West and Carti had collaborated on several tracks, including “Off the Grid” from Donda, the hit single “Carnival,” and “Go2DaMoon” from Carti’s album Whole Lotta Red.
