Lil Wayne Revives Young Money with New Talent and Star-Studded Album Release

Lil Wayne is ushering in a new chapter for his Young Money label, featuring both fresh talent and some familiar faces. Initially launched in the early 2010s, the label’s original lineup boasted artists like Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyga, and others. Over time, Euro and Cory Gunz joined, and both remain with Lil Twist in the 2025 lineup.

On a recent episode of his Young Money radio show on Apple Music, Wayne introduced the new roster, which includes Jay Jones, Allan Cubas, Domiio, Poppy, and Lucifena.

Fans might hear contributions from Young Money’s new artists on Lil Wayne’s upcoming album, “Tha Carter VI,” set for release on June 6. The album cover features a baby Weezy adorned with his iconic face tattoos, reminiscent of “Tha Carter III” and “Tha Carter IV.”

In a Rolling Stone cover story, Wayne revealed a diverse array of guest artists for the album, including Miley Cyrus, Bono from U2, and opera singer Andrea Bocelli. Other contributors are Machine Gun Kelly, dancehall icon Elephant Man, and Wayne’s 15-year-old son Kameron.

The production team features Wyclef Jean, Wheezy, and possibly Kanye West. Wyclef is reportedly playing a significant role in the album’s production and has initiated an informal supergroup with Wayne, called the Gumbo, including New Orleans musicians like Jon Batiste and Trombone Shorty.

Additionally, Lil Wayne expressed interest in recording a sequel to the 2006 album “Like Father, Like Son” with his teenage sons, who are pursuing rap careers.
